What is Crystal Isolate?

CBD Isolate is a chemical component derived from cannabis plants. Proponents tout CBD Isolate as the purest form of cannabis. This is because of the way manufacturers split (or isolate) the CBD from all of the other components of the cannabis plant.

That leaves CBD Isolate all by itself.  It’s the chemical compound remaining after CBD has been extracted from a cannabis plant.

CBD Isolate Vs. Hemp Oil

In terms of how CBD is extracted from the cannabis plant, there a few different techniques that can be used. The most popular in hemp oils used to be running harsh chemicals like butane, or hexane over the raw plant material. However, this process can result in trace amounts of carcinogenic compounds (like formaldehyde) being left over in the end product. While a handful of manufacturers still use this method, the much cleaner, and much healthier option, is a process called CO2 Extraction.
